Waitakere Gymnastics has been providing gymnastics classes to the public for more than 60 years. The club offers comprehensive and well-organised gymnastics programmes for children and adults of any ability. The Club focuses keenly on gymnastics skills, with a balance of fun, challenge and progress. We offer preschool, gym fun, beginner, intermediate, advanced classes, trix, tumbling, adult gymnastics classes, recreational competitive and competitive STEPS leagues, along with a fantastic school holiday programme four times a year.
The Club has a warm and friendly environment and we welcome family involvement in our Club.
Our coaches are enthusiastic and ensure progress is made by each gymnast at any level of participation.
We consistently strive to offer quality gymnastics classes to all ages and abilities.
This is a FUN approach to fitness developing body management and fundamental skills. Children are taught skills on every apparatus and learn at their own pace. All classes are mixed with boys and girls and all individuals are encouraged to challenge themselves. For 5-7 year age group.
Recreational classes follow on from Gym Fun classes. There are rec girls and boys classes based on age and skill. There are 3 types of classes - Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced. Gymnasts learn a variety of skills, flexibility, strength & apparatus work Suitable for kids aged 7 years and up.
Trix Kids is a fun recreational class with a base in gymnastics and parkour. Kids will learn to roll, jump, twist and flip. This is a fast paced, fun class in a safe environment designed to burn off energy, learn cool new skills and make new friends. Coaches will build confidence, strength and agility.
TeamGym is an exciting style of group performance, recommended for participants aged 7 years and over. It is based on the popular international European TeamGym competition and encourages teamwork, creativity, originality and showmanship to provide the audience with an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic performance.
These classes have an emphasis on technique and performing skills safely. At each apparatus the coach will lead participants through a variety of gymnastics skills, strength, coordination, flexibility and fitness activities.
For the competitive option gymnasts are requested to attend twice per week.
